As the chairman of the Minsk city committee of natural resources and preservation of the environment Alexander Borovikov has informed the correspondent of agency "Minsk-news", in Minsk the index of pollution of atmosphere seldom exceeds a mark of 7 units whereas in other European cities makes 20-30, and in large cities of Russia - 70 units.

In some years air in Minsk becomes even purer. According to Alexander Borovikova, by 2010-2011 in a city there will be no enterprise of the third class of danger. Moreover, from the capital centre the enterprises of the fourth class of danger will be taken out. As a result by 2015 decrease in quantity of emissions of polluting substances on 7-8 thousand tons is predicted. Now to their capital air annually gets 34,6-35,6 thousand tons. In 1990 this indicator exceeded a hundred-thousandth boundary.
