"Belarus the documentary directory was published in decisions and orders of the State Committee of Defense of the USSR. 1941-1945" This edition is joint work of experts of National archive of Belarus and their colleagues from the Russian state archive of sociopolitical history, the head of department of the publication of documents of Belarus the candidate of historical sciences Vitaly Skalaban has told to correspondent Belta

The directory includes data about 345 declassified the documents, expressly or by implication concerning Belarus. Among them documents on formation of military units, operations and evacuation in the war beginning, appointment of members of military councils, fronts and armies. Materials about a management of guerrilla movement, operations on Vitebsk and Orshansky directions in 1943-1944 are published also. Decisions of the State Committee of defence in 1944-1945 concerned restoration of a national economy, mobilisation of persons liable for call-up and the population for various works, deliveries, distribution and transportations of fuel, products, raw materials, fixing wood, etc., and also uses of work of German prisoners of war, repatriations of the stolen population, a stage and distribution of trophy cattle, export of the equipment and property from Germany in BSSR etc.

As Vitaly Skalaban has noted, in the edition the maintenance of the majority of decisions reveals. The most interesting and important are published completely. For example, the decisions, concerning creations of the Belarus staff of guerrilla movement, and also lacks of work of command and a staff of the Western front. In last document it is a question about little-known unsuccessful attempt to release Vitebsk area from fascist aggressors in 1943.

It is planned also, that from the copies of documents presented by the Russian archivists the collection for National archive of Belarus will be created.

The directory "Belarus in decisions and orders of the State Committee of Defense of the USSR. 1941-1945" - any more the first book which has been let out together with the Russian archivists. In 2007 the book "The day before, the Western special military district (the end 1939-1941)" is published.
